HOW CAN A HEALTH COACH HELP ME?
A heath coach can help you in a any area of your life. With focus on habit change your health coach will guide you in making healthy decisions more effectively. A health coach can help you realize and overcome your habits and behavioral patterns so you can realize your full potential. People who work with a health and wellness coach are the ones willing to do the work needed to live a healthier, more rhythmic and fulfilling lifestyle.
HEALTH COACHING VS. THERAPY
While both services have similarities, health coaching is different in that its focus in not entirely in overcoming psychological issues. A Therapist is certified in the counsel of psychological and mental health conditions; with the ability to prescribe medications. The purpose of a health coach is to help you identify your goals and guide you through the process of how to achieve and attain those goals with accountability. Health coaching, places very little emphasis on the past. Instead, the main focus is on creating the life that you want now and in the future for a healthier version of yourself and a healthier lifestyle. Both have their place and benefits and can work in conjunction with each other.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING SESSIONS?
Each health coaching session may be different depending on the goals and needs of the client. In the early stages of working with a health coach we'll discuss what you want to accomplish through working together. A plan of action is then created regarding how to achieve those goals. Occasionally, there are assignment or exercises given to help direct your progress. We work together to discover what obstacle(s) or challenge(s) are in your way and how to overcome them. All goals are re-visited each session to insure you are comfortable before moving forward.
